Yes, you might have noticed I am now located at <http://www.tbrauch.com/> now instead of that gobbledy-gook address I had before. But, that is probably the only improvement you will notice. However, there are plenty more behind-the-scenes improvements. So, since I made them, I'll tell you about them.

  • I am no longer hosted at Fuse and I am actually paying for a domain name. Hopefully this will mean better, more consistent service (and my pictures should stay around for good now).

  • All of my pages are HTML 4.01 Transitional. If you are using MSIE or Netscape you won't notice anything. But, if you are using an alternate browser, you will (should) see the exact same thing as everyone else. The next step is XHTML 1.0 Transitional code, which I am working on and finally XHTML Strict code and CSS.

  • Most of that last part doesn't make any sense to most people. What it means is that while I used to have a little thing on the bottom of my page saying you should use MSIE, I don't say that anymore. All of my pages can be viewed with any HTML 4.01 compliant browser. I have no dependence on Microsoft anymore. This is a little more work for me, but I think it is worth it.

  • All of your bookmarks to my pages no longer work. And, don't bookmark anything for the next couple weeks. I spent time getting valid code. Now I am restructuring the web page to make it easier to administer. That means pages will be moving and get renamed all over the place. Let me know if you find a broken link. In the end, it will make the site easier for me to update.

I think, mind you this only a thought (hence the name of this section) that I might finally have my pictures stored at a new place that might work. I say might because I also got a cute little email telling me I am using too much of their bandwidth. So, how the hell many people are looking at my site to cause me to get this little email reminder? I might answer this question with my next thought.

Things that can go bad:

  1. My computer's motherboard gets fried.

  2. The company that I store my web page images goes belly-up.

  3. Classes require more time spent on homework than there are hours in the day.

  4. I am supposed to work 8 hours a week, but they need me for 15.

  5. Cross Country practice is hard if you are fat and out of shape.

Guess how many apply to me?

Centre has classes on Labor Day.  And, if that is not bad enough, it is the first day of classes.  Ouch!

I just noticed on a jar of pickles it says to refrigerate after opening.  Hmm, I thought the whole point of pickling was to preserve the food without refrigeration.  Huh?

Finally, The workers have left and I have central air in my apartment.  So, is it hot outside?  I don't know, I never leave my apartment.  Hehehe...

Okay, it was warm over throughout the winter.  There weren't very many cold days.  Spring was relatively cool this year.  Now, as we approach summer, why is it so freaking hot already?

Free at last, free at last.  Thank God Almighty, I am free at last.  Yes, I've completed the final final.  Woo-hoo.

Centre has gone to a new numbering system.  Our classes used to be numbered using two numbers, like MAT 17 (Calculus I).  Now, they are using three numbers, like other schools.  Calculus I is now MAT 170.  So, to get these new numbers, they either added a zero at the end (MAT 17 --> MAT 170) or they doubled the first digit (CSC 23 --> CSC 223).  But, this has caused some problems where they weren't consistent.  For example, SPA 30 became SPA 330 while SPA 33 became SPA 330, also.  Oops.  Anyway, all of this is a covert attempt for Centre to stop being Centre College and start being Normal University.

Okay, my Windows computer broke for the umpteenth time. And, while I am waiting to fix it, I have been using my Linux box. This is not a problem, but I don't have all the fancy Microsoft Software on my Linux box. And, this means all the updates (not that there were any) to this page were done by hand in a text editor. Ouch!

There are [were] riots in Cincinnati.  But, the rioters were stupid.  Why?  Because they were rioting and destroying the places they care about, not places the city cares about.  For example, they destroyed Deveroe's.  Big deal, all that is sold there is Tommy Hilfiger and cheap knock offs.  If I was rioting, I would have gone downtown to riot and loot at Tiffany's and Saks Fifth Avenue and Brooks Brothers.  Doesn't that make more sense?

Baseball season has finally started.  Okay, so this is only the pre-season games.  But, you know what?  It is still really baseball.  Games are being played daily and it is only a few weeks until opening day.  Oh, and another thing.  There will be grass at Riverfront Stadium this year.  Okay, there won't be as many seats and ticket prices went a dollar (except for the Top-5), but there will be real grass.
Now, what is this stuff about Puerto Rico 2001?  Huh?  I thought the Reds always hosted Opening Day.  What is this crap about Puerto Rico?

Okay, Winter Term is finally over.  Maybe now I'll be able to find some time to keep this website a little more updated.  Check back and see.  If all works out well, I'll have a new thought around March 1st.

Why do they sell artificial lemon flavoring but put all the real lemon extract in furniture cleaner?
