Let it snow; let it snow; let it snow; except in North Carolina because the people here freak out when it snows and then they all decide to drive.

Get this, wanna stop spam?  Move to North Carolina.  You see, North Carolina has laws against spam. If spam in any way, shape, or form travels through North Carolina, the sender, no matter where they live, can be sued.  This means even if the sender does not live in North Carolina nor the recipent, if it passes through a computer located in North Carolina, you are guilty.  Or, even if a company invovled does business in any way in North Carolina, guilty.  Penalties are up to $25,000 per day of spam.  Read it for yourself at

You better believe I am going to try and collect.

Oh, and let's play a game. Who can guess how many 'official' email addresses I have? Anyone? Email me with your guess. Whoever gets it closest will win fame by being forever immortalized in my archives. Even more recognition if you can name all of them.

Tom Martin, you were the closest with your guess.  Although, of the names you submitted, only three were correct.  Everyday I check at least eight email addresses.

It only took Alltel 15 days to hook up my phone and 35 days to get me internet access. But, so far, it has worked.

I know I have been slacking, but I have been busy and a lot of things have happened in the last two months. Cut me some slack.

I have an insurance policy that wagers I will live forever.  However, if I don't live forever, they are willing to pay my estate for being wrong.

People ask me if I am packed for my move yet.  To be honest, I haven't packed a thing.  But, that does not answer the question.  You see, I never actually unpacked from May.

If you go to Bob Evans you might know that you can call ahead your order for take out. Well, if you do this, they will call you during your meal to make sure everything is going okay. But, what if everything isn't okay? Will they come and give me a refill? My potatoes are cold, will they heat it up for me? And, the better question, do I really want to answer the phone during my dinner, which they know I am eating when they call?

Never ask two questions in a letter.  The reply will discuss the one you are least interested, and say nothing about the other.

This also goes along with the ten-word rule.  Never ask a question that takes more than ten words to ask. Either the question does not pertain to the discussion because you have to give too much background or you do not understand the subject.  Also, most people lose interest after ten words (such as with this thought).

Here are some of the classic rhetorical (stupid) questions:

  • Why do we park on a driveway and drive on a parkway?

  • Why are they called action figures if they don't do anything?

  • Why do women have to get perms (as in permanents) done every month?

  • If Barbie is so popular, why do you have to buy her friends?

Got any others?  Send them to me.

I am working on some small improvements. So I don't have time to think. Yeah, that and I graduated so I don't actually have to think anymore anyway.
[These improvements were upgrading to XHTML 4.01 with Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). That is about as good of code for web pages as you can get.  It also makes it easier for me to maintain my pages.  So you can watch for small improvements made all the time now.  The only thing left to tackle is accessibility for the impaired.]

This is a good story. I got a letter from Centre telling me I would not be able to graduate until my account has been paid up.  Well, they were threatening not to give me my diploma because I owed them a whooping $2.50. Yep, two and a half bucks. Okay, That might not seem bad, they have to have zero-tolerance for issues like these. But, last I checked, Centre still owes me almost $300 (no decimal point there, three hundred dollars) in work study money for time I have worked. Hmm, I can't graduate until I pay $2.50, but what can I do to them until they pay me my $297.50?
